3 Amazing Miracle Stories of the Rosary

3 Amazing Miracle Stories of the Rosary

After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the next highest form of Catholic prayer is the Holy Rosary. There are many stories of miracles and favors granted through the power of Our Lady’s Rosary! In this article, we share three amazing miracle stories of the Rosary. May these stories inspire us to a greater love and devotion to Our Blessed Mother, and to a deeper devotion to the Rosary.

Saved from a Nuclear Blast

8 German Priests survive the Nuclear Bomb

On August 6, 1945, during World War II, an atomic bomb was dropped on the town of Hiroshima, Japan which killed 140,000 people. Just 1 kilometer away from the site of the blast of the Atomic Bomb, there was a home which miraculously survived the blast. This home was attached to a church, which was completely destroyed along with everything else.

More amazingly, the eight people who lived in that home miraculously survived the atomic blast. They did not suffer from radiation sickness, nor any form of malady, loss of hearing, or deformation - all this despite being a mere 1 kilometer away from the nuclear blast.

The eight people who survived were German Jesuit missionaries. They were interviewed numerous times and medically examined. Fr. Schiffer, one of the missionaries who survived the blast, said that they were interviewed over 200 times by various experts and media - all of whom could not understand how they could have survived the nuclear blast.

What was unique about that home, and about the 8 priests who lived in that home?  They prayed the rosary every day. In various interviews, Fr. Shiffer said: “We believe that we survived because we were living the message of Fatima. We lived and prayed the rosary daily in that home." Fr. Shiffer lived on for another 37 years after the nuclear blast - amazing proof of the power of the Holy Rosary!

Healing of Fr. Peyton

Fr. Patrick Peyton is well-known for his famous saying, “The family that prays together, stays together.” He became known as the “Rosary Priest” because of his propagation of devotion to the Holy Rosary. What many do not know is that Fr. Peyton was himself a recipient of a beautiful miracle from Our Lady, through the praying of the Holy Rosary.

In 1938, just before he was about to be ordained to the priesthood, Fr. Peyton became very ill and was diagnosed with advanced Tuberculosis, which at that time was an incurable disease. He consecrated himself to Our Lady, begged for her intercession, and began devoutly praying the Rosary, upon the suggestion of his sister.

To the surprise of his doctors, he was completely and miraculously cured! As a result of this miracle, he promised the Blessed Mother that he would spend the rest of his life promoting the Holy Rosary.

A King Saved from Hell

Secret of the Rosary St. Louis de Montfort

Our last story is told by St. Louis De Montfort in the book “The Secret of the Rosary.” Alphonsus, King of Leon and Galicia, constantly wore a large rosary on his belt in order to inspire others to pray it and honor the Blessed Mother. However, he himself did not pray it.

One day, the king became extremely ill. Many thought that he would not live much longer. In the midst of this severe illness, the king had a vision. In that vision, he saw himself being judged by the Almighty God. His final judgement? He was to be cast to hell for eternity.  All of a sudden, in that vision, the Blessed Mother interceded for him.

The Blessed Mother called for a pair of scales, where his sins were placed on one side of the scale. The sins were extremely heavy, and weighed down the sales. On the other side of the scale, Our Lady placed the Rosary that he had always worn, together with all the Rosaries that were said because of his example.

The Rosaries weighed far more than his sins. Our Lady then said: “As a reward for this little honor that you paid me in wearing my Rosary, I have obtained a great grace for you from my Son. Your life will be spared for a few more years. See that you spend these years wisely, and do penance.’

When the King regained consciousness from his vision, he blurted out: “Blessed be the Rosary of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, by which I have been delivered from eternal damnation!”

The king recovered his health, and then spread the rest of his life praying the rosary every day and spreading its devotion.

Do you have a burden that seems too difficult to bear?

Are you facing a difficult problem? Do you have a burden that seems difficult too bear? Place all your burdens at the feet of Our Queen Mother, and recite the Holy Rosary for that intention. If your intention is good for your soul, the Queen Mother will surely intervene with Her Son on your behalf!  If Our Lady, through the Holy Rosary, can save 8 priests from a nuclear blast, Fr. Patrick Peyton from tuberculosis, and the King of Leon and Galicia from eternal damnation, surely she can grant miracles in our own lives!

Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us!
