Laudate Mariam recently ran a survey on Filipino Families’ attitudes towards the Holy Rosary. Around 271 people all over the Philippines participated. The results of the survey are quite interesting.
Of those who answered the survey, an overwhelming 98% said they prayed the Rosary.
When asked how often they prayed the Rosary, close to 60% said they pray it daily, while 32% said they pray it a few times a week. 8% said they pray it several times in a day.
Finally, when asked if they pray the Rosary as a family, close to 40% said they did not pray the Rosary as a family, 31% say they pray it but not every day, while 29% said they pray it as a family every day.
The survey shows that while majority do pray the Rosary, the surprising result here is that most seem to pray the Rosary individually, and not necessarily as a family. In fact, only 29% said they pray it as a family every day, compared to 60% who say they pray it daily.
Laudate Mariam’s Mission is to convince more Filipino families to pray the Rosary together, every day. We need to pray the Rosary now as a family, more than ever, especially with the current difficult times that we are living in.
