St. Lorenzo Ruiz, whose feast we celebrate on September 28, is the first Filipino saint and martyr, and patron saint of the Philippines. To honor him, let us recite this special prayer as often as we can:
Prayer to San Lorenzo Ruiz
Beloved San Lorenzo Ruiz,
Patron of the Filipino people,
You who were a faithful husband,
A loving father, and a courageous martyr,
Your unwavering faith and devotion to God
Led you to offer your life for Christ
Even in the face of death.
We ask for your intercession,
That we too may remain steadfast
In our faith and commitment to God,
Despite the challenges and trials we face.
Guide us to live a life of courage,
Love, and humility,
And help us to trust in God’s will,
As you did with all your heart.
Pray for us, San Lorenzo Ruiz,
That we may one day
Join you in the eternal joy of heaven.
Amen.
